If you do not want our oversight services, perhaps you need a critical review completed on your risk management process.  We can perform the actual review with a team who each have multiple decades of experience in the industry. 

We believe the most effective model to assess these factors is a deep dive into fewer credit relationships compared to a surface look at many credits.  We also do not transcribe data from individual files, such as financial statement and collateral information into software, which is time consuming and costly.  We use your data for our analysis and tend to concise work papers, conclusion- oriented memos to provide you meaningful commentary based on our observations.  Once the transactional scope has been defined, we will review policies, procedures, and selected credits to assess:

  • The depth of credit and financial statement analyses commensurate with the size and complexity of the borrowing relationship.

  • Accuracy of internally assigned risk ratings and applicability of the risk rating scale.

  • Adequacy of, and adherence to, established policies, procedures, underwriting guidelines, and best practices, as well as variances to Board limits. 

  • Loan approval processes, including policy exceptions and compliance with approval conditions.

  • Adequacy of loan documentation, collateral valuation methods, collateral perfection and secondary controls.

  • Adherence to lending-related laws and regulations.

  • Loan officer accountability and ongoing account management.

  • Identification, collection, and management of problem loans, including timeliness and effectiveness of loss mitigation measures.

  • Sufficiency and depth of management and Board reporting, including policy exceptions, delinquency, non-performing asset trends, loan growth, concentrations, and classified assets.

  • Evaluation of methodology used to determine the Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL).

Our report will provide you with a summary of strengths and weaknesses for your lending department along with a list of items to correct and/or improve upon.  This becomes your action plan for future improvement.
